Abstract
A simple RF structure that supports a directional flow of the displacement current, imitating the behavior of a recently introduced optical D-dot wire, is presented. The structure comprises of an air channel covered by a high-impedance `coating´. This concept is further extended to a D-dot loop with a circulating displacement current, which is a dual of a conventional loop antenna. The measurements on the experimental prototypes that operate in a 1GHz RF band, verified the theoretical predictions.
