  • Abstract
In this paper, we investigate the performance of advertisement delivery scenarios of Vehicular DTN (VDTN) under highly stressed environment. The simulations for two scenarios are conducted considering obstacles (buildings), where Road Side Units (RSUs) are present or not present. We consider 802.11p standard and send bundle messages in a realistic scenario of east side of Tokyo station area in Japan imported from open street map. We use the number of received packets, storage usage and end-to-end delay as evaluation metrics. Based on simulation results, we noticed that for both VDTN and VDTN-RSU scenarios, most of vehicles received advertisement message during simulation. For short lifetime of bundle messages, 90 % of vehicles can receive the advertisement message in VDTN-RSU scenarios.
