  • Abstract
Nanotechnologies promise new solutions for several applications in biomedical, industrial and military fields. In this paper, we review nano networks from two aspects briefly: · Nano networks with short range communication · Nano networks with long range communication Then, we design protocol stack with three layers for either and duty of layer explain clearly. In fact, this protocol stack is a new idea for explicit explanation of nano networks. Designing of protocol stack and illustration of functions in each layer follow two goals: · Reduction of understanding complexities in nano-networks · creation a correspondence between the nano-networks and computer networks Traditional communication technologies and their protocol stacks are not suitable for nano networks mainly due to the size and power consumption of transceivers, receivers and other components. The use of molecules, instead of electromagnetic or acoustic waves, to encode and transmit the information represents a new communication paradigm.
