Abstract
The goal of ShanghaiGrid is providing information services to the people. ShanghaiGrid is a long term plan sponsored by Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality with 50 million RMB funds (about 6 million USD) from the government and others. It aims at constructing metropolis-area information services grid infrastructure and establishing an open standard for widespread upper-layer applications from both research communities and official departments. This paper reviews the state of the art of the advances in ShanghaiGrid, the one of the top five grand grid projects in China
