Abstract
This paper developed a new checklist for fully auditing and benchmarking technological innovation. With such a managerial tool, 24 Chinese firms were investigated, among them are some best innovation firms in China. The state of the art of innovation practices, including sources of innovation, means of technology acquisition, resource allocation, core competence building, interface management, human resource management et al., is discussed. The authors believe these kinds of research have a demo effect for ordinary Chinese firms which are ready to innovate
