Abstract
We examine a full rate and diversity 2×2 layered matrix modulation configuration. The layer matrix modulation is constructed in accordance to design rules that enable separate decoding of the layers. Each layer of the matrix modulation is separately decoded by exploiting the constant modulus property of one layer and zero-forcing in the other layer. Decoding incorporates a per survivor process (PSP), a voting scheme (VS), and iterative decoding. The concept is demonstrated via Monte Carlo simulation.
