Abstract
We have proposed for the first time, a single microbench fiber connectorized compact photonic delay line (PDL) using GRIN lens fibre optic (FO) collimators, 3D polarization optics, and ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) devices. Insertion losses of <7 dB were measured for both PDL settings. Important GRIN-to-GRIN coupling loss data is presented. An approach using special design non quarter pitch FO collimators is suggested for the large GRIN-to-GRIN distances in our PDL
