Abstract
An algorithm for the identification of multiple time delays in nonlinear differential difference systems is proposed. The identification problem is posed as a minimization problem in Hilbert spaces and necessitates the computation of system sensitivity to delay perturbations. Delay identifiability conditions are stated in terms of the properties of the associated strong derivative of the adopted cost function with respect to perturbations in the delays. A generalized Newton type algorithm is then developed. Convergence of the identifier algorithm is rigorously assessed
