Abstract
A method has been described which can predict the rate of formation of nitric oxide in a power generating combustor using the velocity and temperature results obtained from combustion flows. The results have been compared with experimental measurements and it has been found that the temperatures used are crucial in predicting nitric oxide concentration. The method could be applied to new furnace designs to reduce thermal NOx production
