Abstract
In this paper we present a new method to measure the velocity of objects using two sequential images from a camera with a pan angle that can be determined by this method. The algorithm first extracts the moving object in two consecutive images using image processing methods. It then uses a simple geometrical approach to calculate the displacement of the objects in real-world coordinate system to measure their velocity. Also, it can estimate the pan angle of the camera
