Abstract
We consider the transient scattering phenomena when a pulse wave is incident on a coated conducting cylinder. We obtain the time-domain numerical solution for the transient scattered electric field by utilizing the inverse Fourier transform of the product of the frequency-domain asymptotic solutions and the frequency spectrum of a pulse source. By comparing with the reference solution, we confirm the validity of the present solution for the transient scattered electric field by a coated cylinder including the scattering phenomena inside of a coating.
