Abstract
In this paper, a MPEG-2 to H.264/AVC transcoder is presented, which can deal with all frame types of MPEG-2. Main problems in transcoding are discussed first, and then the architecture of the transcoder and some transcoding methods are proposed. Compared to cascaded transcoder, the suggested transcoder is more efficient
