Abstract
A new scheme called CFDAMA-PR (combined free/demand assignment multiple access-predictive request) is proposed in this paper, which is compared with the CFDAMA-PA (CFDAMA-preassigned request) scheme and R-CFDAMA (round robin-CFDAMA) scheme. The delay performances between the CFDAMA-PR, CFDAMA-PA, and R-CFDAMA schemes were compared by computer simulation. Simulations were carried out with the interrupted Poisson process (IPP) and interrupted fluid process (IFP) traffic models with various burstiness. Simulation results demonstrate that comparing with CFDAMA-PA and R-CFDAMA schemes, the CFDAMA-PR scheme achieves a better delay/throughput performance.
