  • Abstract
    Currently, with rapid development of the Internet, more and more people are interested in e-learning via web, and agent technology plays a more important role in the design of information system. But in the design of e-learning system, there seldom involve in agent technology. So this paper proposes a design and development framework for e-learning system that uses agent technology. The use of agent can more effectively support e-learning. It can more effectively support collaborative e-learning processes via Internet or Intranet for teachers and students. This paper performs the following tasks: (1) introduction agent technology, CSCL(Computer Supported Collaborative Learning) and intelligence service; (2) presentation of a framework for e-learning system based on agent; (3) discussion of communication modes between agents; (4) implementation of a simple prototype system; (5) conclusion and expectation of the further work.
