Abstract
On the basis of a method of the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction the far field of a vertical half-wave electric dipole located arbitrarily above a metal plane with a rectangular thin ledge is determined in all space of observation. The directive patterns of the orthogonal components of the vector of electric field intensity, radiation resistance, the directive gains of the dipole and factor of protective action of a ledge in the direction of normal to it were calculated versus the position of the dipole, as well as the ledge and the plane parameters
