Abstract
This paper describes the design of a channel demodulator IC for a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. The IC contains 466K-transistors and includes a 160 K embedded Dynamic RAM. The design was done using the PIRAMID silicon compiler. Using the compiler it was possible to create on short term an application specific complex-arithmetic signal processor. The IC, which allows for the first time real-time OFDM demodulation, is being used in current prototypes of a DAB receiver
