  • Abstract
    A novel microstrip multi-mode resonator is proposed in this paper. The electric field patterns and equivalent circuits of the proposed resonator are given to analyze its resonance properties. It is shown that the resonator can be excited with four operating modes, i.e., two pairs of even and odd modes. Finally, based on the characteristics of the resonator, a dual-mode dual-band bandpass filter with two passbands at the center frequencies of 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz is designed and fabricated. Measured results indicate that the proposed filter has the properties of compact size, simple structure, together with two transmission poles inside each passband.
