  • Abstract
IEEE 802.16 WiMAX is one of the popular technologies in the field of wireless networking recently, where channel resource allocation and reservation have become key issues. In the paper a QoS Coordinated Distributed Scheduling scheme (QC-DSCH) based on priorities is proposed to meet the QoS requirements in MAC layer. There are three algorithms in QC-DCSH. Adjusting hold-off time (AH) algorithm exploits scheduling algorithm negotiation decision with three-way handshaking according to the traffic priorities. The allocating mini-slots (AM) algorithm gathers the availability mini-slots information of the neighbors to portion out the data frames adaptively, according to requesters demands with diverse priorities. The dynamically adjusting hold-off time (DH) algorithm can reflect the status of allocated mini-slots and adjusting the hold-off value. The proposed algorithm is able to reduce the average delay and increase the throughput of VoIP traffic.
