  • Abstract
A transistor-free model for a thyristor is presented. It contains only passive circuit components and current voltage sources. This model effectively simulates a thyristor for the study and design of power-electronics circuits using a SPICE program. Gate-triggering and controllable reverse-recovery time are possible using the proposed model. These aspects are important for high-frequency high-power applications. Details of various simulation studies are also presented
