Abstract
Integrated broadband communications (IBC) and multimedia technology can provide a tourism information infrastructure enabling direct marketing links between tourism providers and point of sales. This paper presents a methodology for IBC service definition based on specifications developed by RACE I European project. The IBC systems are derived from a design process which begins with an analysis of the user needs. The methodology was applied, as a case study, in the tourism field for marketing service creation and delivery. The functional, architectural and consolidation issues are also discussed
