Abstract
Measurement techniques to enhance the design process for SMPS (switched-mode power supply) magnetic components are described. Techniques for expanding and verifying the abbreviated core-loss data available from core manufacturers, and a method of evaluating conductive losses associated with the harmonic content of the current waveforms are presented. In-circuit, calorimetric verification of SMPS transformer losses for a design example is described
