Abstract
A novel Lyapunov function of transient stability analysis for the controlled power systems is presented for the power system transient stability analysis with emergency control such as generator tripping or load shedding. The novel Lyapunov function is constructed on the basis of the existing transient energy function and Hamiltonian systems. The new function is tested on an OMIB system, and a good assessment of emergency control is obtained.
