  • Abstract
    With the rapid development of agricultural modernization in China great changes have taken place in the rural economy visage. But subsequently various pollution problems emerge out more frequently and especially because of the aggravating non-point source pollution the safety of drinking water in the vast rural areas has suffered a lot from severe threats which is drawing more and more attention. Some rural drinking water sources from the rivers, reservoirs and groundwater of a country in Hubei Province are regarded as the examples in this paper. The cause of rural surface pollution is analyzed in detail, and the harm to environment, in particular to drinking water is carefully studied. In order to ensure drinking water in the rural areas, the key point is that preventing and controlling non-point source pollution, and moreover seeking fast and effective treatment methods for the rural drinking water.
