Abstract

LBS system is an information distributing system providing geographic related information services to the customers according to their locations, over the mobile communication platform. For reasons both on contents and terminals, the development of LBS is limited. As an instance of LBS, the public transportation guiding/route planning (PTGRP) system offers urban road traffic information by short message service (SMS), involving in a practical solution to these problems, and the implementation of this system is proved to be successful.
