Abstract
In the present contribution we shall first recall the problem with the proportionality of the phase power spectral density (PSD) in crystal oscillators in respect to unloaded quality factor Q of the resonators. That reverts to the basic noise theory of the oscillators and concludes with some practical testing which points to the proportionality Q-2 of the Sy(f) in the flicker noise region.
