Abstract
This paper discusses the integration of third generation mobile communications in the B-ISDN fixed network. A separation of concern is suggested, distinguishing four system aspects that have to be taken into account when integrating mobile and fixed communications: common services and common use of infrastructure, protocols and functions. The possible degree of integration is studied for each of these aspects
