Abstract
An equivalent circuit model has been developed to study the self-heating effects and the thermal crosstalk on lasers and other devices in optoelectronic integrated circuits (OEICs). We have applied this self consistent electro-opto-thermal lumped element model to a 1D laser array in order to predict how the L-I characteristics of a particular laser are affected by the thermal crosstalk from adjacent lasers operating under various bias conditions. We also performed experiments to validate the model.<>
