Abstract
In this paper, we propose a lighting system to be installed as the lane marker on expressway, which uses piezoelectric bimorph elements, capacitors, and super high brightness LEDs. The LEDs installed within the lane marker are lit by the electromotive force, which is generated when a vehicle passes on the piezoelectric bimorph elements which in turn are located on the road surface. The higher the speed of the vehicle is, the higher voltage the capacitor will be charged with, making it possible for us to light the LEDs further down the road. This lane marker lighting system does not require any external energy source, and is almost free of maintenance.
