Abstract
This paper presents the design of an autonomous station, which executes dynamically uploaded applications. The hardware of the autonomous station is based on a Java processor. Hence, the system software and applications are implemented in pure Java. We are relying on mobile agent technology for the distribution of applications to the station, as well as for remote maintenance and configuration.
