Abstract
The Smart Tactical Assessment and Response (STAR-Eagle) expert decision support system prototype for the US Air Force is described. STAR-Eagle applies a knowledge-based approach to the problem of simulating sortie production within some constrained scenario. The problem is described, with an emphasis on illustrating the importance of representing domain objects, events, and relationships. An overview of the prototype´s functionality and a discussion of technical implementation are also presented
