Abstract
Project Megawatt was initiated in 1987 to develop a standardized, roof-mounted 3 kW PV-system that would stimulate high-volume demand throughout Switzerland. The various phases of this successful program are discussed. To respond to the increased opportunity provided by the nuclear moratorium in Switzerland, a joint venture was formed with Switzerland´s largest glass fabricator to expand production and installation of the standard 3 kW systems
