Abstract
This paper presents the required harmonic power and rating issues of the active filter and power components. A design procedure is presented to select the DC bus capacitor that covers all modes of operation. The effect of the DC bus ripple on the compensation capacity is analyzed. A typical problem is included to illustrate the design approach followed by simulation results showing the static performance of the active filter.
