Abstract
This paper presents an efficient interframe/fractal hybrid coding scheme for interlaced video sequences. The scheme employs a fractal block coding algorithm which uses an adaptive infield/inframe block approach to generate range and domain blocks. In addition, it also employs a motion compensated interframe coding in order to exploit the temporal redundancy and enhance its coding performance. Computer simulation results showed the performance superiority of the proposed coding scheme
