Abstract
Recently, the ATC (Available Transfer Capability) of tie-lines has become a problem under the deregulated environment. On the other hand, many kinds of dispersed generations are being introduced to power systems, and negative influences such as frequency deviations are of concern. Therefore, the introduction of a NAS battery system has been considered in order to control the fluctuation of the total power output of the dispersed generations. In this paper, we propose a method to improve the frequency ATC in addition to control the fluctuation of the wind power generation by the NAS battery system application. Numerical simulations have been carried out using a two-area LFC model system to verify the validity of the proposed method, and successful results have been obtained.
