Abstract
We demonstrate the nanopatterning of multicolored inorganic quantum dot light emitting diodes (QDLED) on silicon for compact multispectral analysis of cancer cells. With well-correlated electroluminescence and photoluminescence spectra, the QDLEDs works as near-field excitation sources to illuminate fluorescently labeled cancer cells. Spectral characteristics of individual cancer cell can be recorded. Key parameters such as the nucleus-to-cytoplasm ratio of selected cancer cell lines were measured to benchmark cancer progression. This compact platform shows great potential for quantitative identification of circulating tumor cell in blood for early cancer diagnosis.
