Abstract
An electronic ballast, high reliability, stability and safety, must prepare the protection functions in order to avoid more critical hazards. In this paper, the high performance protections proposed mainly false ignition, open and short circuit protection actions have been completely designed and shown. Then, the protection circuit owns more benefits as small size, large cost saving and high efficiency. Moreover, this one can yet become a module structure as hybrid or integrated circuit. Now, the protection functions will be applied to and verified by the electronic ballast with the self-excited series resonant inverter system for fluorescent lamps.
