Abstract
We present a high-speed start-up and low-power encoding circuit for sensor networks. The Manchester code that is currently used for Ethernet (10BASE-T), non-contact IC card, and RFID requires a phase-locked loop (PLL) because intervals of the state transition change. On the other hand, in the proposed circuit, state transitions occur periodically at the center of a waveform through the use of the encoding method involving several waveforms.
