Abstract
Radially or azimuthally polarized beams are shown to be naturally emitted from radial Bragg lasers (RBLs) depending on the supported polarization in the cavity (TE or TM). The impact of structure imperfection and deviation from a circular shape on the lasing properties is investigated, showing a red-shift in the resonance frequency, and a modification of the radial/azimuthal polarization forming elliptical vector beams. The comparison of the analysis to the experimental results indicates that the fabricated lasers are not perfectly circular with ellipticity in the order of 1%.
