Abstract
This paper describes the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and associated reimbursement incentives that are being offered to promote wide scale adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) software by physicians and hospitals. A methodology is described to help physicians select EHR software that meets their practice needs, and complies with new government standards for meaningful use that must be satisfied in order to qualify for ARRA incentives.
