Abstract
A novel method for measuring the space charge in double-layer composite dielectrics is given. Using the pressure step wave method, and considering the transmission and reflection of the pressure wave on the interface and the superposition of the signals obtained, the potential distribution in the double-layer composite dielectrics can be obtained by measuring the open-circuit voltage through simple calculation. The experimental equipment consists of a shock tube and a storage oscilloscope. For a composite dielectric sample consisting of 0.5-mm polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and 0.16-mm fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP), the experimental results show that this method is successful
