Abstract
This paper presents an approach on the detection of semiconductor maloperation in a voltage source inverter. It is based on the evaluation of machine state variables which are processed due to the machine control algorithm. With it a fast and reliable fault detection algorithm can be realized. Furthermore, limited drive operation in case of a fault mode is discussed. All obtained results are based on computer simulation
