Abstract
In this paper we have investigated various methods for producing chemically functionalized graphenes in order to use them as components in polymer composites for energy-storage and conversion devices. Functionalized graphene were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Atomic force microscopy, Scaning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. Thin films of graphene - regioregular poly 3-hexyl tiophene (rr-P3HT) nanocomposites were obtained by spinning and dip coating processes, from the mixtures of the functionalized graphene sheets and rr-P3HT, on transparent substrates.
