Abstract
An error analysis method for the scanner in an automated inductance calibration system is described. The system is composed of a digital bridge, a scanner, and a personal computer. The random error of values measured with the scanner is compared for the case without a scanner. The influence of the scanning system is explained by a specified model, and the error caused is estimated from two equations derived from this model. At 1 kHz, the system´s accuracy is best at 100 mH and decreases either with larger inductance or smaller inductance. This method can also be applied to other automated measurement systems using scanners.<>
