Abstract

The Digital Telewattmeter System software package (DTS-Base) was written to provide both consumer-side load management and remote transmission of energy usage data for the utility. DTS-Base provides utilities with a database that stores customer information, reads customer telewattmeters (field units), and generates customer bills. The user friendly software package will call specific field units via the computer´s modem and download energy usage information. Customer bills, generated using the downloaded information from each field unit, contain all the necessary information to allow for consumer-side, nonintrusive load management
