Abstract
Temperature profile of K-shell emitting region has been measured by two spectrometers with high spectral resolution for azimuthally symmetric aluminum wire array implosions. Both spectrometers using spherically bent crystal analyer operated with spatial resolution. One of them was designed to capature broadband spectrum (4.4 Å-8.2 Å), and the other to realize profile distinguishing. Results on the 1-MA QiangGuang-I pulsed power generator1 at Nouthwest Institute of Nuclear Technology indicate a K-shell structure of a central hot plasma component surrounded by an cooler outer one. Model-independent electron temperature of the central component was provided by the slope of the free-bound x-ray continuum produced from tranitions of hydrogen-like ions to helium-like ions, while the outer temperature was obtained by non local thermodynamic equilibrium (NLTE) analysis of the line spectrum.
