Abstract
As a new technology, network coding has very wide application in broadband wireless ad hoc networks and network coding theory has been applied in many fields such as P2P, application layer multicast, wireless Ad hoc networks, wireless sensor networks and wireless Mesh networks and so on. This paper presents a P2P streaming media transmission algorithm based on network coding technology which layers the data and the uses network coding technology to encode the data to transmit. Receiver controls the transmission of data layers according the bandwidth situation and takes the strategy of playing while transmitting to improve the quality and the continuity of streaming media data. Simulation results show that comparing to other algorithms, this algorithm has obvious advantages in the performances of CPU occupancy rate and playback quality.
