  • Abstract
    The dispersion characteristics of the edge-coupled suspended substrate microstrip line are analyzed by the method of lines. On the basis of numerical results obtained, a set of closed-form analysis and synthesis equations, valid over a practical application range of structural parameters and substrate dielectric constant, is obtained. Compared with the data obtained from SUPERCOMPACT, the accuracy is found to be within 3.5% for analysis and 5% for synthesis. It is concluded that the computer-aided design of edge-coupled suspended substrate microstrip lines can be carried out easily using these equations.<>
