  • Abstract
The paper proposes a new three-phase auxiliary resonant commutated pole matrix converter. It is shown that the use of special pulse patterns and an auxiliary commutation unit enable PWM control and soft switching. The function of the converter is analyzed and simulation results are presented to verify the function of the converter. An accurate loss model is used to compare the losses of a hard switching and the auxiliary resonant commuted pole matrix converter
