Abstract
The authors describe a molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) test facility that has been installed at CRIEPI, and discuss the results of preliminary tests. The purpose of the installation is to clarify large stack performance, evaluate large stack durability, and develop the operating technology of the MCFC which is installed within the system. The facility is divided into two sections, single loop and recycle loop. Before power generation tests using MCFC stacks, the performance of the facility is checked to ensure that the two loops have the desired performance. The preliminary tests demonstrated the basic function and features of the loops and provided data regarding their operation
