Abstract
In this work, we present a distributed framework for provision of reliability to visual data in wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs). Individual sensor nodes cooperate, in a pair-wise fashion, to allocate processing resources within the network which are then used to partially decode the incoming data as it traverses the multi-hop network. We show that the proposed framework outperforms the conventional end-to-end channel coding by considerable margin in terms of energy efficiency for desired multimedia content delivery.
